Update Tuesday

Having the pleasure of being up at around 3:30 a.m., this morning, I noted with curiosity that the PC in my kitchen (yes, where it has been happily providing service for several years, now) was rebooting automatically. Then it hit me, it was Patch Tuesday, or what I call, Update Tuesday. Looking at search results, it seems Microsoft Patch Tuesday is the most common label for this phenomenon.

In any case, you can search this for yourself – “microsoft patch tuesday” and you’ll see what I mean. Much is written about it and what I have to say will add little to what’s already available.

The only thing I might add is that if your computer is set up to automatically apply updates and you are in the habit of leaving your computer run overnight, you may want to consider that any document you have open and not saved is at risk during these events. That was the long way of saying, save any open documents before you go to bed each day and you will sleep better, knowing you are not at risk for losing any unsaved work you’ve done.

This might be the first time I’ve injected religion into a business post, but there’s a punch line to a joke that is; “Jesus Saves!” So, why wouldn’t you? If you’ve read this far and you really want to know the set up for that punch line. Send an email and I’ll answer you directly.

This is my 100th post on WordPress – do you get some kind of a badge or gold star for this?
